Mission

The mission of the Health Ministry is to provide an environment that endorses a Holistic approach to health. We promote total health in the physical, mental, spiritual, and social well being of our members.

There can only be healthy spirituality when we are physically healthy. Because of this we minister through the NEWSTART model. NEWSTART is an acronym for:

N - proper NUTRITION
E - daily EXERCISE
W - an abundance of WATER
S - adequate exposure to SUNSHINE
T - TEMPERANCE in all things
A - lots of fresh AIR
R - adequate and regular REST
T - and settled TRUST in God's love and care.

This ministry will fulfill its mission through various programs and events in the church and in the community. Including:

• Health Seminars
• Exercise Classes
• Health Screening
• Health Fairs
• Nutritional Classes
• Smoking Cessation Classes
• Educational and career opportunities
• Mentoring
• Distribution of Health related literature

Goals and Objectives

• To have a strong networking system through conferencing leadership, regional directors, and local health ministries leaders
• To assist the local church leadership in setting up or improving their health ministries department
• To challenge and educate individuals in health improvement
• To provide guidance in training individuals to serve Christ in health outreach
• To promote community involvement
• The establishment of a Nursing Fraternity
• The Establishment of a Nursing station during Sabbath morning service
